KCITP InfoSec Night: Symantec CEO Keynote & Capture The Flag Event (10k in cash/prizes)!

Symantec CEO, Enrique Salem will be giving a keynote at Kansas City Information Technology Professionals' InfoSec Night Kansas City Information Technology Professionals has partnered with Symantec to bring you an exciting night around the topic of Information Security!!

The event, hosted by Johnson County Community College, will take place on March 21st from 4:30 – 11pm (see agenda below).


A keynote speech will be delivered by Symantec’s CEO, Enrique Salem. Mr. Salem will deliver a keynote address on the global threat landscape and how current IT trends are requiring organizations to take new approaches in security.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Information Technology leaders, IT security professionals and others in the industry to learn how they can protect business-critical information in today’s world.

An exciting “Capture the Flag” (CTF) event will follow the Keynote. Security professionals and ethical hackers will use tools and tactics in an attempt to retrieve a particular “flag” on a private network/server (set up specifically for this event).

To make the CTF even MORE interesting, Symantec has set aside $10,000 in cash and prizes! A grand prize of $5,000 will be awarded for anyone who captures the pre-defined flag!

iPads and other great prizes will be awarded to additional people based on the total number of flags captured throughout the event.

Through participation in these events, IT professionals will be able to learn a great deal about multiple security technologies, as well as brainstorm and share best practices with industry peers.
