Google Fiber Project Delayed In Kansas City Kansas?
According to an article published yesterday in the KC Star, there’s a delay in the Google Fiber Project on the KCK side, over how the wires are hung.
Today we’re asking: Does it matter to you if the project is delayed?
Quotes From The KC Star Article
Here are a couple quotes from yesterday’s story:Google Fiber work in KCK is delayed by dispute over how its wires are hung
“Now it turns out that differences over where and how to hang wires on those poles, and what fees or installation costs may be required, have created a troublesome bump in plans to launch the project at “Google speed.”
“That apparent delay stems from how, and precisely where, Google hopes to hang its data-shuttling glass wire.”
Does A Google Fiber Delay Matter To You?
With all the entities working together to make this project a reality, there are always challenges.
Does a small shift in timeline on the KCK side matter to you?
If not, are you simply more focused on the big picture of what a gigabit speed network will do for Kansas City?
We’d love to hear your thoughts!

In my opinion, it’s unfortunate KCK was used as the anchor or ‘bait’ for Google, yet KCMO jumped on it as well (very understandable) and is now getting the lion’s share of the first available service.
